Coronavirus: Confirmed global cases exceed one million!

According to the latest report from Johns Hopkins University, there are now more than one million infection Coronavirus cases globally. This is a grim milestone when the whole world is fighting against the spreading of the pandemic. Furthermore, as seen from the U.S. university’s figures, approximately 53, 000 people have died, while there is 210,000 recovery. The U.S. is still at the top with more than 6,000 death.

Although the data by Johns Hopkins recorded more than 1,000,000 cases, the actual number could be much higher. The first 100,000 instances take one month and a half to register, and now we already reached one million cases. In the U.S, nearly a quarter of cases got registered while Europe held around a half. Furthermore, the pandemic has also affected the economy in various ways. Notably, an additional 6.6 million Americans have applied for unemployment benefits last week.

The U.S reported 1.169 deaths within 24 hours – the highest number so far in the world yesterday. Before, the Spanish government stated that they recorded a total of 950 death tolls in one day – a record number of Europeans in this outburst. On Wednesday, the country confirmed the infection cases raised from 102, 136 to 110, 238 (8% rise). Authorities now believe the peak of the coronavirus should hit soon. We could expect to see a drop in figures in the upcoming days. Spain is a country that suffered severe damage after Italy, lost nearly 900, 000 jobs since mid-March.
