Apple is shipping custom face masks to medical workers as donation cross 20M!

So far, Apply has actively offered its help in the combat against the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. In a recently shared video, Apple’s CEO Time Cook shared that the company has managed to source over 20 million protective masks for healthcare workers. Not stopping there, they are still trying to do more. A week ago, the US company claimed that they had donated a total of 10 million gears for healthcare professionals.

The masks are currently being sources by Apple’s supply chain. On the other hand, he also revealed that Apple has successfully designed a new type of custom face shields for medical usage. Based on their statement, the first shipment already reached Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara Valley last week. Cook claimed that they received incredible responses from medical workers.

By the end of this week, Apply plans to reach 1 million shipments, and another 1 million per week after. Here is a short summary of Cook’s video: “In these very challenging and difficult times, I hope you’re staying safe and well. Teams across Apple have been working hard on ways we can support our heroic frontline medical professionals. We hope to quickly expand distribution beyond the US in both these efforts. Our focus is on unique ways Apple can help, meeting the essential needs of caregivers urgently, and at a scale, the circumstances require.”

Conclusion

He also expressed gratitude for all the people who are helping in the battle: “For Apple, this is a labour of love and gratitude, and we will share more of our efforts over time. In the meantime, each of us can stop the spread of the virus by following expert advice to stay home and practice social distancing. Thank you for all you’re doing to help in your own life. Thank you again to those on the front lines of this fight. Stay safe and stay healthy.”
