IKEA is now making masks to help fight coronavirus!

To help solve the problem of equipment shortages in the fight against coronavirus, IKEA has announced that they will be taking on the work of producing masks for those needed. So far, the Swedish has begun with the masks that staffs in China could use in early stages of the coronavirus pandemic. Furthermore, they will join hand with other suppliers to bring in a significant number of masks as well as hand sanitizers, visors and single-use aprons to all health workers. 

Additionally, the first batches for European healthcare facilities are in the process of being shipped. Up to now, the company has reopened all of its stores globally, but one store in China remained closed. As this is where the virus emerged, this is an understandable move. However, a total of 436 stores is still inactive. On the other hand, the Swedish manufacturer reported an increase in office furniture; as many people are now working from home due to the health crisis. In case you didn’t know, IKEA produces a tenth of products itself. The rest usually were sourced from suppliers, mostly in Asia and Europe.

More big companies show their support! 

Meanwhile, other companies are also working to support critical medical supply shortages. There is the Dyson vacuum cleaner company that makes ventilators; plus Armani fashion group that helps to produce medical gowns. Moreover, spirits brand Ricard offers alcohol to use as disinfectants.
